 YLE, the finnish broadcaster has recently announced details on how they plan to select their song for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. The way in which the song will be chosen has not changed, 12 artists will be invited and split into three semi finals to be held on the 9th, 16th and 23rd January 2009.
From each semi final, two artists will go through by public vote to the final of the national selection show and a wild card show will allow those who did not make it to have a second chance.
Finland’s National Final process will begin much earlier then in previous years. the competing songs will be made public on 10th December 2008 but are due to be shown much earlier on YLE’s main TV station.
YLE have stated that the deadline for submissions is 1st November.
