The Netherlands will select their entry on Saturday 4th October. Before the final of the Dutch Junior Songfestival 2008, semifinals will be held on 20th and 27th September. The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 has ended. Some European countries are now preparing for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008, to be held in Limassol on 22nd November. In the Netherlands the following ten candidates have been selected to take part in the Dutch Junior Songfestival 2008.

• Paola & Claudia - De Dansmena
• Delano - Doe Je Ding Nu
• Rick - Meisje Van Mijn Dromen
• Marissa - Een Dag Is Te Kort
• Roufaida - Vandaag
• Melissa - Als Ik In De Lucht Kijk
• Teuntje - Geef Me Mijn Dromen
• RReady (Robin, Dilara, Rose-Anne & Yasmin) - Musical
• Suzanne - Strijd

After auditions and workshops, the ten candidates were selected out of thousand entries. One of them will succeed Lisa, Amy & Shelley, the girls who represented the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contes 2007 in Rotterdam with the song Adem In, Adem Uit.
