First of all I have to thank you for being with us for this interview
Hi! Thank you very much for this interview
01.Dear Daniel , please tell us a few things about yourself and your hobbies !!
My name is Daniel Testa and I am 11 years old. I am an ambitious and determined boy and I am in first year secondary school. I am an only child and I love singing! I have been taking vocal lesson for the past four years and have taken part and won various competitions in Malta and also abroad. Apart from singing I have other hobbies such as playing the drums, drama and playing football.
02. Would you like to tell us a few things about your song ? Where and when did you got inspired for the “Junior Swing” ??
My song is called “Junior Swing” and it is actually about the swing dance and it says that no matter how old you are, you can always dance the swing and you’ll definitely have a great time! I got inspired and created the melody for “Junior Swing” at home after having all winter to think about it and had just finished my school annual exams. I definitely wanted a different and original style and I decided it would be swing, so as soon as I created the melody, I recorded it in order not to forget it and then I said to myself, why don’t I write the lyrics about swing too.
03. You are coming from a small country and that means that you cant travel a lot , and to tell you the truth Malta is one of my favorite country since I was in your age !! So, do you like traveling ? Your flight to Cyprus is going to be your first abroad travel ?
Yes, of course, I love traveling and meeting people. I’ve been abroad on several occasions due to singing competitions and even because I had won a study-grant to London earlier this year. On the other hand, I also traveled abroad on holidays with my parents so traveling to Cyprus for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year won’t be my first time traveling and I am really looking forward for the day to arrive!
04. How do you feel about taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 ?? Do you feel stressed or relaxed?
Taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been my aim and my dream so having accomplished this dream of mine is a big satisfaction for me. I feel very proud to be representing my country Malta! I am quite relaxed actually, at least until now, that’s how I feel.
05.What would you like to become when you will grow up ?
When I grow up I would like to become a doctor, however, singing and music in general will always remain my passion!
06. Have you heard the other songs of the contest? And if yes , which song is your favorite ?
Yes!I’ve heard all of the songs and I must say that I really like Belgium’s song.
07. Have you ever seen again the Junior Eurovision Song Contest ? And if yes, what was the thing that you liked most about it?
Yes, I’ve always watched the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and I like the fact that children from different countries get to meet and show their talent and that it will be a very important week that will be treasured for a lifetime.
08. Do you like school? How your friends in Malta and your relatives reacted about your participation in the contest ? Your relatives are proud? And your friends like “Aw Daniel, please sign me an autograph please”. How do you feel about this?
Oh, I love school and I study very hard. All of my family and friends are all so happy for me for winning the contest. They followed it throughout and were all very supportive and proud. Wherever I go people recognize me and my friends love it, they tell me that they feel popular when they’re with me!
09. Hmm, and how is your stage appearance is going to be in the contest ? What are your plans about it?
My plans for the contest is to do my very best, however, it’s a surprise, so watch carefully my song on the 22nd November, 2008. Definitely with me on stage will be the same dancer, 11 year old Francesca Gauci.
10. And a mature question , which thing do you believe that is the most important for your life ? Your family and your friends or a career with much success and a lot of money ?
Definitely my family and friends are the most important for me in life, they will always be there for me!!!!
