What appeared to be a rumour has now been confirmed as being fact: Rosa Lopez will represent Spain at the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008. On September 6 in Glasgow, Rosa will dance with one of the male dancers of the Television show “¡Quiero bailar!”. She was proposed by RTVE to represent Spain at this Dance contest after the rules were changed, enforcing one of the dancers to be an amateur and leading to the withdrawals of Germany and Switzerland.
Rosa will now form part of the panel of “¡Quiero bailar!” on a regular basis, something not new to her since she won the third edition of “¡Mira quién baila!” and was part of the panel during some of the other editions. The truth be said since representing Spain at Eurovision 2002 with “Europe’s living a celebration” her musical career has not really been able to recapture the height of success but she has remained a fan favourite. She is currently working on her fifth album entitled “Promesa” and achieved 1,1 million sales from her previous four.
